Using your insurance benefits with Therpoint Massage...

Medical Insurance

Medical insurance will cover medically necessary massage if it is part of your plan's benefits. Some plans will require that you have a prescription from your PCP (Primary Care Provider), while others will not. Plan benefits and coverage vary greatly. Call your insurance provider and find out if massage therapy is covered under your specific plan.

Before your first appointment, please verify with your insurance provider:

  • That massage therapy provided by a massage therapist is a plan benefit. Some plans will only pay for massage therapy if it is provided by a doctor, chiropractor, or physical therapist
  • Your deductible and co-pay
  • Find out what whether your plan's coverage includes out-of-network massage therapy or in-network therapy or both

Bring the following with you to your first appointment:

  • Prescription from your PCP (Primary Care Provider) if required by your plan.
  • Identification (driver's license/state ID)
  • Medical insurance card
  • Co-pay (if applicable)
  • Payment for the session if your insurance plan has a deductible that has not been fulfilled. Deductibles are renewed each year, or at the start of a new policy. Contact your insurance company to find out if you have a deductible, and whether it has been fulfilled.

For follow-up appointments, please bring:

  • Co-pay (if applicable)
  • Deductible (if applicable)

Auto Insurance

If you have been in an automobile/car accident, or motorcycle accident you likely have suffered some degree of injury. Massage therapy right away after an accident can prevent injuries from turning into chronic problems lasting years.

Most automobile and motorcycle insurance cover massage under the PIP (Personal Injury Protection) part of the policy. If you were hit by vehicle, and you don't have PIP coverage on your policy, getting coverage may still be possible.
